Pretty Boxed Victorian Solid 9ct 9k Gold MIZPAH Brooch Pin Open Book:

This is an antique hand crafted solid 9 carat gold Mizpah Brooch or pin dating to the late Victorian period. It comes in the lovely antique box as photographed.

We have an open book design framed by flowers, on page of the book has raised letters - spelling Mizapah.....and the other page has the inscription “The Lord watch between me & thee when we are absent one from another”. Further decoration of beading to the frame.

Just Delightful.

Bears a 9ct English stamp for 9 carat gold and the maker’s S.BROs to the back of the brooch.

This is a pretty example of a sentimental piece of jewellery given to a loved one on going away and to be parted for a while.

An excellent early example FOR THE SERIOUS MIZPAH COLLECTOR.

Weighs in at 2.7 grams approx.

Measurements: 1 & 5/8 inches long by 3/4 inch wide approx.

Condition: In good antique condition for its ripe age with a velvety patina you only get on vintage and antique jewellery. One bead missing (top right), a few small wear holes to the back of the bead decoration. Most have only been worn on very special occasions.
