DESCRIPTION

This is a charming sterling silver thimble made by ARCGold & Silver Ltd of Station Road, Sheffield.The design echoes thimbles produced by Victorian and Edwardian silversmiths inthe late 19th and early 20th centuries. It features atraditional daisywheel pattern to the top and main part of the shaft with aplain, contrasting band below. At the bottom is a stepped rim.

The hallmarks are tiny - you need an x60 loupeor magnifying glass to see them well - but are good and clear and comprise:Lion Passant, Rose (Sheffield assay) and 925as well as the maker’s mark ARC. There are no date letters on this maker’sthimbles but they are all from 2000 onwards.

An attractive and interesting thimble for collectors.
