Primitive Folk Art Punch Needle, "curious Caitlin" Ooak Original Design:
"Curious Caitlin" Original design and punched by Roberta Jackson Dogwood Trails Arts
PLEASE NOTE: THIS PIECE WILL NOT SHIP UNTIL JUNE 26. I WILL BE OUT OF STATE UNTIL THE AFTERNOON OF JUNE 25.
This punch needle piece is the model for thenewest pattern by Roberta Jackson. The pattern (and the model) appear in the Summer, 2019, issue of Punch Needle and Primitive Stitcher Magazine.
Punched with 3-strand Valdani and DMC thread, the piece depicts a little black and white bunny investigating an old watering can. It is bordered by white scallops littered with French knot pin dots. The punch needle is approximately 6-1/4" indiameter.
I have attached the piece to a painted masonite backing and inserted it into a frame that I discovered in an antique shop in Palestine, Texas. I believe the frame is pewter, but I can not verify that. Flowers, leaves, and other scrollwork are embossed around the circumference of the frame. The frame has a hanger, but the piece can also sit nicely in an easel, as shown in the pictures.
Thanks for looking!
