Primitive Folk Art Punchneedle Hearth & Home On Wood Hornbook:
"Hearth and Home" Primitive Punchneedle on Hornbook
This primitive little sampler is a Brenda Geravis design. It is a punchneedle that I handcrafted on weaver's cloth using all 3 strand overdyed Valdani and DMC floss in the variable shades of red, antique gold, aged white, ecru, brown, black, green, blue and gray. Once completed it was mounted to a wood board (called a hornbook), that was faux painted. It was first painted black, then over painted barn red, then "combed". The edges were further distressed for a primitive look. For a finishing touch, a rusty house cookie cutter was tied with twine to the knob. It is signed and dated on the back. Display this classic primitive punchneedle year 'round! The actual needlework measures approx. 4 5/8" wide by 6 1/4". The hornbook measures approx. (with knob) 8 3/4" tall by 8 1/2" wide. by 3/4" deep. I only accept PayPal and would like payment no later than 3 days past the end of the sale. Please review my other listings. I will combine shipping costs on multiple purchases of mine. Contact me with any questions and thanks for previewing! On Jun-14-13 at 20:43:04 PDT, seller added the following information:
***Please note: Color of hornbook looks washed out in photos. It is a primitive true barn red in reality!!!
