Queen Victoria Sterling Silver Jubilee Souvenir Spoon Chester 1896 Royal Antique:
A very interesting Victorian sterling silver commemorative spoon. It is unusually hallmarked for Chester 1896 with the maker’s marks being CS FS for Saunders and Shepherd. It was made to commemorate the diamond jubilee of Queen Victoria in 1897. Its bowl has been engraved with the date of her reign at that point ‘1837-97’, its terminal depicts her. It is in super condition being free from dings splits distortions and repairs. It measures a touch over 4.25 inches (11.1cms)long and weighs 7.4 grams. An interesting seldom seen Chester hallmarked example.
