A wonderfully detailed Qing Dynasty Chinese multichromatic temple statue – carved, sculpted and painted with appliquéornamentations. It features an emperor seatedon as serpent throne. Thehole in his left hand suggest he was holding a detachable spear or sword andappears to be holding a tea canister in his left hand. The statue is approximately 9” to the top ofthe head and the base measures 4” by 4”.Below is right foot is a foo dog pup.His left foot is raised and it is likely that there was a round ball underit representing the earth.Despite the missing parts, it is marvelouslydetailed relic of an ancient culture.
