This is your chance to connect with the English Aristocracy. This match box cover was formerly the property of the 3rd Viscount Hambleden and was supplied to him by the very best of British Silversmiths, Aspreys of London, holders of the Royal Warrant and suppliers to the titled, rich and famous. It is fully hallmarked for London 1933 and has an additional Asprey's mark. It is also engraved with an 'H' surmounted with a Viscount's Coronet for Lord Hambleden. Hambleden village is an extremely attractive village near Henley on Thames in England and it has been used in many films and tv series such as Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Sleepy Hollow and Midsommer Murders. The title, Lord Hambleden was awarded to W H Smith of newsagent fame in 1891 and has been passed down the family since, although the current Lord Hambleden lives in Switzerland with Anna-Frid of ABBA fame.
