Thisabsolutely fantastic potterypitcher was manufactured by K & Co. to commemorate the Diamond Jubileeof H.M. Queen Victoriain 1897.

Thedecal transfer is shown in a shade of burnt orange. The illustration of the Queen is surrounded by a spray of national flowers and a crownis ontop. The decal transfer of the monarch lion and unicorn is also shown in a shade of burnt orange. It is the commemoration, that is held, that is extraordinary given that H.M. Queen Elizabeth II, has now been the longest reigning monarch in the history of the UK.

The gilding around the upper rim is very worn. There is a little bit of gilding that remains where the handle is attached to the pitcher. Acanthus, in burnt orange, completes the handle decoration.

The 3/4 inch cut is inside the pitcher and just below the spout.(Please look at the photo)My guess is that this happened after the pitcher was manufactured.
