R. CRUMB Sketchbook November ’83 to April ’87 FIRST EDITION.

First printing, hardcover first series, published 1989 by Zweitausendeins. Amazing first edition German collection of R.Crumb’s works. The American edition was not published until 6 years later. This is the rarest of the special editions, hardcover, encased in a grey slipcase with an additional booklet, and wrapped in a special wrapping paper. Each page is hand stamped with a page number. The book is in fantastic shape. It shows no damage at all. The booklet has flat edges and square corners. The top staple shows a small amount of rust. The slipcase shows some shelfwear, with some blunting around the seams and on the title label. The wrapping paper is torn in spots, especially around the corners, and is missing a 3-4” square chunk. Exceptionally rare, it’s unlikely that you’ll see another in this condition.
