Youare offerding with onan early tomid-1960's 17A that wasbuilt by Mr. Rudy H.Ruana himself. You can still see all of the original grind lines Mr. Ruana left in the blade. This model is shown on the 1962 catalog onpage 97 of "Hear The Hammer". It is a discontinued model that is not in Ruana's current catalogs.

Specifications:

1. Model: "17A Skinner".

2. Blade:High CarbonSteel.

3.Blade: 6" long;1-5/8" wide out of nearly 1/4" stock. Overall length: 10-5/8"

4. Handle: Super Awesome Elk antler.

5.Hilt Stamp: "R H RUANA BONNER MONTANA M"

6. Sheath:Custom original leather sheath with copper rivets. Stamped: "RUANA" with the Deer and Crossed Knives.

Knifeand sheath areinexcellent+ condition. Knifehas been used, carriedand resharpened. The knife was in the sheathfor carryingbut not stored in the sheath. Blade has some discolored areas that are very common in high carbon steel blades of this vintage. Some extremely light surface pitting that you can barely feel with your finger nail; nothing that affects the integrity of this rare knife. Both knife and sheath are maker marked.
