DON'T miss this RARE one! Breyer 1979 special run "WILD" Dapple GreyClydesdale Mare (sculpted by Chris Hess). Only about 200 of these were made for Bentley Sales Company & Mission Supply House. Orders were taken at the 1979 Model Horse Congress (MHC) and so she is also sometimes referred toas the Congress SR dapple grey Clydesdale Mare.

This beautiful mare is a dark, almost semi-gloss dapple grey. She sports a blaze and four white socks with grey hooves. Her inner ears and muzzle have some pinky-grey shading. Her mane and tail are a darker shade of grey. She has wild, splatter type dapples all over her body, including some in her mane and tail.

You can verify this 1979 specialrun from the later, 1987 mail order special run dapple grey Clyde Mareby her color and dappling. The last photo shows the matte, lighter grey 1987 SR with no dapples on her head & neck. Also note that themane & tail on that horse are not nearly as dark and her dapples are smaller and more circular, not splashy. I am not selling the model on the left in the last photo, it is there for comparison only.

This wild dapple grey Clydesdale Mare is in factory mint condition. I have live shown her in the past and she has brought home blue ribbons in Breyer SR collectibility classes, as well as Breyer OF Draft (shown as a 3 yr old Shire mare). But everyone's opinion of live show quality differs, so please see photos for details and decide for yourself. Being SUPER PICKY, there are two factory flaws on her back/hip areas, shown in close-up photos with the orange pen pointing them out. I am the original owner and she came right from Bentley's that way. I believe that something was lightly rubbed across her back while her paint was drying at the factory. Again, she has placed and won under several live show judges with this, but I wanted to point outher flaws. Due to her wild dappling, those areas on her back blend in. If you pick her up and look hard, you may find tiny hoof edge rubs. These models came loose, in a plain brown cardboard box back in 1979, so I would guess she got some faint foot rubs in shipping from the factory.

A must have for the draft horse collector! Rare model that you do not see for sale very often.

I have been a Breyer collector for over 30 years and need to make some closet space! Too many duplicate models sitting in boxes and some of my conga lines have gotten too big to display, so I am downsizing. Will be listing a few model horses for sale as I dig them out of the closet or as I make shelf space in the near future. I have a smoke-free home, but the models could arrive with pet hair included in packing material ; )
