RARE 1867 PRESIDENT ANDREW JOHNSON HAND SIGNED SIGNATURE AUTOGRAPH ON POST CIVIL WAR NEBRASKA LAND GRANT PATENT DOCUMENT Offered today is this incredible estate fresh 1867 post civil war reconstruction land grant patent document for the Nebraska territory upon creation of a new state that year to the union. Document is assigned to Ephraim A. Ellsworth. This original 1867 United States Government land patent document was filled out and hand signed by the 17th President of the United States ~ Andrew Johnson (as testified to), who succeeded to the Presidency after the assassination of Abraham Lincoln.This very rare hand signed Presidential document was also signed for Andrew Johnson at the bottom for official filing by his personal secretary ~ Frank Cowan (see photo). This document came straight out of a Vermont estate where it sat for the last 146 years. This document is guaranteed 100% original and hand signed by President Johnson.
Document is in great original shape with no rips or tears to the paper, just typical light age patina and multiple folds as shown. For listing accuracy ~ The United States General Land seal is mostly intact, but one small edge piece is loose.
