This iron sided cast metal top bottom Blind man fortune teller mechanical bank.
Made by an unknown manufacturer c1930's. I have never seen another example of this
bank, I guess it could also be some sort of blind charity collection box as
well. At one time there was a glass dome over the blind guy I assume but it’s
gone now. This is from my PERSONAL COLLECTION, I
have intended to get this in operational condition but never got around to it.
I’m passing it on. Few nicks & rubs hear & there as pictured. No
cracks, chips, the internal mechanism that makes the guy spin around and tell
the fortune is not currently working, needs repair. A small screw came out of
the inside when I first bought this and that is probably why (the screw will
come with the bank) all the internal parts are here. If you slide something
thin into the slot, it engages a mechanical leaver but the guy doesn’t spin,
like I said, probably just missing the screw. The guy spins freely now but you
have to flick it w/ your finger. The bank is open, there is a lock but it doesn’t
work. If you take out the 4 screws on the bottom and side, you can get in and
get to all the mechanics. 9 3/4” x 6 1/8” x 6 1/8” tall. This is an awesome
bank, buy it now or good luck finding another one. NOT Listed in the new “The official price guide to Mechanical banks”
by Bill Morphy or any of my other reference books. Estimated book; $5000+
Will combine, prefer it actually. It’s generally the same cost or
a buck or two more depending on the weight. PLEASE WAIT UNTIL I SEND YOU A COMBINED SHIPPING INVOICE. WILL SEND YOU ONE WITH THE FULL SHIPPING PRICE FOR ALL THE ITEMS PURCHASED. IF YOU PAY BEFORE I SEND A COMBINED INVOICE, I MAY NOT NOTICE THAT YOU OVER PAID FOR SHIPPING. IF I DO NOTICE I WILL REFUND THE DIFFERENCE BUT PLEASE WAIT FOR THE COMBINED INVOICE TO SAVE A REFUND HASSLE FOR BOTH OF US. THANKS.
FYI: I always go to the USPS to mail the items
so I always have a receipt/ proof that the items were mailed
I suggest to the winner to print a copy of this
sale, it will increase the resale value of your purchase tremendously having
this information as a hard copy along with the bank. You are paying for this
information, make use of it! Plus it’s fun to look back in 20 years and say I
only paid $200 for that way back when. Most of the banks today selling for
$200-$400 were $15-$50 in the mid 1970’s, big money when the reference guides I
have were printed.
RETURN POLICY:

out of pocket for a mistake if it's mine.
