This listing is for avintage 1950's BATTERY OPERATEDDRUMMING MICKEY MOUSEw/box as shown.It is NOT in working order. When batteries are inserted and the switch is turned on, just his eyes light up, no movement is noted. Overall condition isvery good-excellent. Clothing, fur and tin litho are very nice. Battery compartmentis clean.Original battery direction card. Paper drum head is intact on both sides. Cellophane on the drum heads is complete, although a couple of small tears are observed. Not noticible. Displays very well. This is a "MADE IN JAPAN" toy listed in Don Hultzman's book, COLLECTOR'S GUIDE TO BATTERY TOYS, copyright 2002, second edition. It is listed on page 64. It is a 1950's era toy made by theLinemar Co. ( Marx ) It has a rarity of 8 on a scale to 10 being the rarest, and a value of $1500.00+ in C-10 condition without the box. The original box is included. It is in poor condition but adds to the displayability of the toy. This toy and its box can also be seen in SOTHEBY'S sale sale catalog 7580, December 9, 2000, titled, " IMPORTANT ROBOTS AND ANTIQUE TOYS FROM THE ESTATE OF F. H. GRIFFITH ". It is pictured on page 115. The estimated sale price of the toy was $2,000.00-$3,000.00 as pictured with box. I do not know the actual sale price. This toy is being sold in "AS IS" condition for parts, restoration, display or to send to the toy doctor for repair.A nice addition to anyone's Disney, Donald Duck or Pluto toy collection.Many other 50's & 60's mint & mib vintage bear, battery op & wind-up toys listed in sale & my store.
