are no post cracks, no open seams. This violin was restored
in 1876; at that time the crack to the lower bass side top
was firmly repaired and the fingerboard was shimmed.
Everything is tight and solid as it should be. This is an
estate instrument so naturally, there is some wear...scuffs,
and varnish loss here and there, edge wear, and the usual
dings as you would expect from an instrument of this
age (and which in my opinionadd character
and serve to validate the age instrument).
