DESCRIPTION If you are a lover of interesting and unusual vintage and antique jewelry, you've come to the right place. I try to keep a nice mix of fine and costume pieces that range in age from 19th century Victorian to late 20th century vintage designer couture. My offering to start off the month of March is by far the best this year. There are several exceptional Victorian and Art Deco pieces mixed with some outstanding designer costume. This will be an excellent opportunity to add some extraordinary pieces to your collection. Up for sale is a very rare and most impressive antique gold washed sterling silver snake bracelet with simulated ruby eyes by Whiting & Davis circa 1900-1915. These highly collectable, early examples are nearly impossible find. The bracelet measures approx 1" wide across the top when fully coiled and the bracelet measures approx 18 1/2" long with a soft tape(the piece will easily fit a small to average sized wrist). The piece Is marked "W & D STERLING"(I have read that Whiting & Davis stopped using the W&D mark around 1915) on the underside of the head and weighs approx 51 grams. There is one area of looseness in the bracelet's coil which does not affect the wearability of the piece. Aside from that the condition is very fine with patina as found(it could easily be polished if desired). A rare and important piece of vintage designer jewelry.
