Long before cell phones but well after crank-phones,
the \'modern\' telephone became more portable on a long cord.
Stands like this one were utilized to place the phone
next to a lounge chair to make phone calls more comfortable.The stand features a level under the top used for an address book
- or letters. A brass coil on this tier allows envelopes to be
kept separate and easily accessed without having to grab all the
envelopes. They often were also used to hold beverages,
and magazines or newspapers on the lowest tier.Today, it works great as a place to always find your smart phone
or tablet. It\'s lightweight and durable and can be moved around
as needed. The thin legs give it a light and almost floating appearance.
