Rare Antique 19th Century Signed Austrian Vienna Bronze Pug Dog :
I am offering some of my old bronzes for sale along with books this week. I have collected both books and animal bronzes for many years and now it is time to offer some of them to new homes.
Here is a fine 19th century antique Austrian bronze Pug dog.
This fellow is an unusual Pug in that his body style and ears are in the style of the 19th century European Meissen porcelain figures of Pug dogs. Those show a chunkier body and the shorter ears which are seen in this Austrian Vienna bronze Pug. He also has a short face and a curly tail, this fellow has a lot of character. He has a golden patina and is signed “DEPOSE GESCHUTZT 1014” on his belly as shown in the photos. He stands well and is 2 3/8 inches tall by 2 3/8 inches long. A rare early Austrian bronze from the late 19th century.
A very nice antique bronze Pug dog offered at a reasonable price, this cute fellow would be enjoyed by any collector.
This bronze will be well packed so that he arrives safely,
shipping includes insurance.
Due to the large increase in postage for overseas, I will only ship bronzes to the USA. Sorry about that, but the Post Office put in a big rate increase.
Thank you for looking at my listings.
