Description: Rare Antique J.C. Klinkosch of Vienna Austria .800 Silver Rococo Footed Bowl. This beautiful and ornate Rococo style bowl is decorated with rosette, vine and leaf motifs and has a cartouche on the side for a monogram. This piece is not monogrammed. It has four curved legs and two rounded handles with floral detailing. J. C. Klinkosch of Vienna was one the most famous Austrian silversmiths and routinely designed for kings and aristocracy across Europe. The double headed eagle silver stamp shows that this highly respected firm was a purveyor to the court in Vienna. This wonderful bowl is sure to be a prize in any silver collection. Low reserve! Size: 2 3/4" high x 6" wide including handles x 3 3 /8" in diameter at the opening.
Date: Circa 1890
Condition: Very good to excellent. Some light wear consistent with age and storage including some faint scratches, scuffs and tarnish. Could use a good polishing and cleaning to remove white residue in crevices. No major dents or gouges.
