This is an antique 18k gold ladies pocket watch from Le Locle, Switzerland sold by Louis Jacot. The dial has a few hairline cracks in it, but it is in otherwise good shape and still runs 141 years after manufacture. It has a Swiss lever movement with genuine ruby sapphire bearings. It is marked 18K, 19987, and L. Jacot Locle throughout. The engraving inside the back case reads \"N19987 L. Jacot Locle Grandma Sept. 4./76\". It comes with a chain stamped 14K and Italy as well as a blue velveteen case. I\'m not sure if the case is original. The watch and chain together weigh 2.5 oz. The watch itself is 42 or 43mm.Louis Jacot was probably best known for his silver pocket watches. This is the only 18K gold one of its kind I have ever seen. It is a family heirloom. It belonged to my great-grandmother Ta-tan, a powerful woman with a sharp tongue and a taste for finery. I\'d really like to see it go to a collector if possible. I will entertain all serious offers.
