This painting is a retablo (a painting on a wood canvas), it is on consignment for sale from a convent we work with. The
painting you are offerding on has been salvaged from an 18th century
piece of convent furniture with the appearance of an armoire, used as a
portable Altar for nuns (oratory). The real gold pigment paint has been
restored, but all else is original.
This
piece is 9.5X7 inches in size, and weighs 16 ounces; the wood is sound.
