Incredible original 1880\'s - 1890\'s black beaded handbag / purse with bead \'fringe\'. Rare to find a bag with such fabulous design and in such great condition. There are a couple places where the string is sticking up among the beaded front but it is too small / hard to photograph. Whale bone inside top back portion, for stiff closure at the opening. Silk body, bows & handle. Measures approx 5 1/2\'\' square (\'body\' only). This is a true antique treasure!! - - - - - We\'ve owned this for 30+ years in our clean, smoke-free home.
