Rare Antique Vintage Old Deans Rag Book Mascot Teddy Bear Nigel With Label, 1938 For Sale
Amazing rare to find famous antique Dean's Rag Book Nigel teddy bear dating from 1938, bearing original label (Nigel was adopted by Dean's Rag Book as its mascot bear)
made of pale golden mohair,
feels to be stuffed with kapok and wood-wool throughout the body and the muzzle,
fully jointed,
has got vintage orange and black glass eyes (right eye has got some heath damage),
original discoloured black vertically stitched nose
inverted Y shape mouth stitching,
original felt pads in quite good condition with general wear and repairs to paw pads, foot pads are in better condition, left foot pad has got small hole at the top
original three claws stitching to each limb, inoperative voice box (I guess there's a squeaker) in his chest.Original well loved Dean's Rag Book label stitched to the right foot pad.
Teddy is approx. 16'' tall.
Condition - teddy bear is in good vintage condition with general wear, thinning and few balding patches. Clean and solid.
