Xavier de Poret is considered to be one of the greatest animal artists of the 20th century. He found his passion at a very young age. He has said of himself that he was drawing before he even knew how to write!

Here is another sublime sketch by de Poret - Les Tourterelles (Turtledoves). This is an original edition from 1956. Throughout the fifties, he completed a number of designs representing deer, birds, dogs, squirrels and more, and they have remained highly collectible and sought out.

Dark mustard border, cream background, charcoal...

This carré is in fair-to-good vintage condition. The silk is soft and thinned. The hems are intact, but have flattened with age. No care tag. There are multiple pulls throughout, and some faint/faded stains. Please make full use of the zoomable photo in the listing to inspect the scarf.

A lovely find for a \"de Poret\" collector! A great piece of Hermès history, for collection, study or wear.
