RARE DISNEY MOTIF RCAF NO. 122 FIGHTER SQUADRON PATCH!
CREST CRAFT “FLYING NIGHTMARES” FELT & CHAIN STITCHED!
Here is another beauty from WWII Canada. It is an extremely rare Number 122 Fighter Squadron patch, which were almost always referred to in WWII as “Felties” or “Feltys.” It is extremely ornate and measures 5 inches high by 4 inches across huge. It is used, and while the reverse is not stamped CREST CRAFT of SASKATOON SK the detailing are undoubtedly Crest Craft. Note the circled C &W.D.P. standing for Copyright Walt Disney Productions!
This is one of the RAREST RCAF crest that you’ll ever come across. The No.122 Squadron was based at Pat Bay in British Columbia and because of the variety of duties it performed it bore the name “Flying Joe Boys.” In 1944, Walt Disney dubbed No. 122 “The Flying Nightmares” and created a very distinctive cartoon emblem.
Formed as a composite unit at Patricia Bay (Vancouver), British Columbia, on the tenth of January 1942 by amalgamating Western Air Command’s Coast Artillery Co-operation Flight and Communications Flight, the unit added an Air-Sea Rescue Flight in November 1944 when it received two modified Hudson aircraft with airborne lifeboats. The squadron was disbanded on September 15, 1945.
Non-operational Flying Hours: 23,778.
Casualties: 3 aircraft; 6 killed, 5 injured

buyers are welcome but when I set up my PayPal account it said that I need to do two things. First is I need to ship only to the address that you have listed in PayPal. Next I need to make sure that all items are sent with delivery tracking. For USA mail that is called delivery Confirmation and .85 cents worth of the postage in the ad is for that (along with my physical packing costs of materials and all) For overseas to other countries I checked at the post office and they tell me the same that the PayPal site says that they list Priority Mail International as the cheapest way to guarantee delivery confirmation (or more expensive is Express and the other Overnight and Two day type services but we will not use that). So I am sorry to report that for overseas and to other not USA buyers the cost to mail by Priority Mail International is what you see in the ad (along with my physical packing costs of materials and all). Thank you very much and I hope all is well.
I would like to have payment by 5 days after the sale is ended. Please leave response as well as I’m new at this and these numbers count for something.
BY THE WAY - I SPENT $299.95 ON THIS PATCH IN 2011! IT HAS DISNEY - WDP ON IT AND IS A SCREAMER!
