GERTRUDE RUPEL-WALL WALRICH TRINKET BOX, CALIFORNIA POTTERY!
Rare California Pottery trinket box by Gertrude Rupel-Wall. This beautiful little box is charmingly paintedand glazed in tan, black and off-white. Normal kiln crazing. Hand incised on the bottom "GRWall".A truly lovely piece to add to your collection.
HEIGHT: 2.5 inches with lid1 & 7/8 inches without lidWidth: 2 & 7/8 Square
Mint condition, no flakes, chips, cracks or repairs. The piece does have fine overallkiln crazing (please refer to photos) which should not be considered a flaw. ABOUT GERTRUDE RUPEL-WALL:
Born in Greenville, OH on Feb. 9, 1881.
Gertrude Rupel was a student at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts and Herron Art
Institute in Indianapolis. In 1922 she and her husband, James Wall, established
the Walrich Pottery Company where they produced glass tiles and vases until the
Depression when production ceased. She was a resident of Berkeley and on the
faculty at UC Extension in 1938. Mrs. Wall died in San Mateo County, CA on July
