RARE & HIGHLY COLLECTABLE 1/2 PLATE TINTYPE OF A LOCOMOTIVE TRAIN WITH ENGINEERS - When I say rare and highly collectable, I truly mean put in a search for 19th Century Tintypes containing trains or locomotives. Now you see what I mean, right? Tintypes in any size or condition are highly sought by antique photography collectors and serious railroadiana collectors alike. Here is your chance to own a large half plate captured at a station which shows off the engine, tender, a single passenger car and a several workmen or engineers. You can make out some other buildings off in the distance on the right side of the image. Beautiful details can still be seen of thecattle guard, the chimney, the boiler, the whistle, the large front lantern and the bell area of this incredible Iron Horse. A gentleman can be seen standing in the doorway of the first passenger car. Several children can be seen sitting or standing on a loading platform. The few tintypes I have seen in both this size and containing locomotives from the 1870\'s-1890\'s have been sold for several thousand dollars each. I am offering this image to all my clientele at a fraction of these prices and based solely on some of the condition issues. Good luck to all my fellow collectors grabbing this super rare tintype.

CONDITION:Please view my detailed photos for the actual condition of the image and as part of my description. The half plate measures approximately 6 1/2\" X 4 3/4\" and contains fair contrast and tonal range. The sharpness of the image, however, shows excellent details.The plate has some rubs and losses, but seems to be in stable condition now.One bonus, the actual plate has no creases or bends.Although the surface condition of the tintype is in fairly rough shape, the subject matter is extremely rare. A truly incredible and historic 19th Century photograph for your personal collection.
