Rare Hm1803 Solid Silver Sprung Double Blade Fish Server Slice Whitebait Antique:
This very unusual set of twin bladed fish servers measure 290mm (11.5'') long x 70mm (2.75'') across the blade and weigh an impressive 194 grams or over 6 Troy ounces. They are fully hallmarked for solid English sterling silver London 1803 to both blades and I cannot make out the makers initials to either piece (please see photos). They are a clever design with a sprung loaded top blade that fits to the lower blade via a friction fit peg which can be removed for cleaning or to use it as a traditional fish slice. The upper blade bears the contemporary initials HHCC and both blade have matching pierced decoration. They are in good working order with the spring operating as it should and just need a good polish to be ready for use. A rare pair of Georgian period fish servers that are widely believed to be design for serving Whitebait.
International buyers are always welcome to this sale. F.M.O.C. Postage outside the United Kingdom is at cost please contact me for a quote. Due to the recent large increase in UK postage rates I am happy for international buyers to arrange their own collection and domestic buyers to collect in person. Most international postage rates are listed as NOT signed for and NOT insured so if you require either please let me know and I will add it to your invoice. Sadly due to Italy terrible postage system I will always add £5.15 to the postage charge for signed for to ensure it reaches the customer. If the item is listed as " Signed for " on the postage then obviously it is already included. If you have any questions please do contact me. All our items are extremely well packed to save them from damage in transit. If you are not happy with this article based on the information I have provided I will always happily refund minus the cost of any postage. All purchases must be piad for within 3 days of the end of the sale unless agreed otherwise.
