Rare Hobbs Rubina Verde Hobnail Syrup Pitcher:
This beautiful Rubina Verde syrup pitcher was made by Hobbs Brockunier and Company of Wheeling, West Virginia, circa 1884 - 1892. It is blown in a hobnail pattern and its Rubina Verde color shades from a beautiful ruby red down to a greenish yellow. It stands 7 inches tall and has a maximum diameter of approximately 3-1/2 inches. It metal top functions properly and is marked “pat mar 20 83" inside around its top. It has an applied greenish yellow handle and a polished pontil on its bottom. It is in excellent condition with no damage that I can find. A couple of the hobnails near its top were slightly under filled when the glass was pressed in the mold and they are a little shorter than the other hobnails. Thus does not affect the appearance of the piece. Its metal top has been re-plastered.This is a rare and beautiful Rubina Verde Hobnail syrup that will enhance any collection. It is more beautiful than the pictures show. Satisfaction guaranteed. Shipping insurance is included in the handling costs.
