Wonderful gnome by Bohemian potter Johann Maresch from Aussig, the German name of a city which is now known as Ústí nad Labem, a large city of the Czech Republic - Circa late 19th century - Marked JM 6407 (Sorry, won\'t let me put the symbol that\'s part of the mark in this description) - Very good condition

Please note thatI do not have the expertise to determine if it has been repainted or touched-up.The gnome has been in our family for decades but we never had a professional give us an opinion of it nor do any type of restoration - we loved it just the way it appears in the photos. The zoom feature on the photos is the only resource I have to help any potential buyers determine whether or not they would like to purchase this piece. The only thing I know for sure about the gnome is the scratch on the side of his face as seen in two of the photos. I have not enhanced photos in any way - only cropped and/or straightened. I make every effort when taking pictures to accurately reproduce the actual color & defects of the item offered, however, allowances must be made in regard to lighting, shades, hues, shadows, etc. Differences that may occur, despite my best efforts, are not considered to be justification to return an item.
