RARE/ LARGE CHINA 19th century CARVEDSANDALWOOD 1000 FACES CHINESE FAN with BIG Lacquered BOX
Beautiful,
large size, with anunusual format, 19th centuryChinese fan,known as “1000 faces”.
Description: The characters’ faces are painted on ox bone, and the typical scene develops in the interior and exterior of a homeand village. There is a remarkable number of characters all with real cloth clothing. The sticks and guards are sandalwood, with a beautiful carved work with people and village. The fan comes in it's original lacquered Box.
Condition: Used condition, several rips and lacks in paper. Some sticks have glue. One of the guards has a silverrestoration. Please see pictures for details.
