You are offerding on a 1882 Kyser & Rex Arabian Safe bank. Louis Kyser and Alfred C. Rex opened their company in 1879 in Frankfort, PA. They manufactured iron castings and hardware as well as banks. They were not the most prolific makers of banks but they were among the very best!! They closed their doors by 1898. The bank is in fantastic shape for its age, these generally come in gold paint with copper colored highlights, THIS BANK HAS ALMOST PERFECT GREEN, RED, PURPLE AND GOLD METALIC PAINT, FROM MY PERSONAL COLLECTION. I HAVE never SEEN ANOTHER WITH THIS PAINT SCHEME. Excellent detail in the metal, beautiful Victorian detail depicting life on a middle Eastern tour. Camels with palm tress, a mosque, Greek/Roman ruins and a tent/camp scene. The surface finish is 100% original - it has never been restored, repainted, touched up or altered in any way. Has pat Aug 8 82 stamped on the back edge of the bank. The locking mechanism is intact, works well w/key!!!! There are no cracks, chips, breaks, repairs or damage of any kind other than any stated. The seams are tight, even, the pieces align well. 4 1/2” high x 4 1/4” wide. In Moore’s penny book #882 @ $150-$250 in 2008!With this rare paint and condition, easily books for $500. You won’t see another so offer like you mean it if you want this one!!!!
Will combine, prefer it actually. It’s generally the same cost or a buck or two more depending on the weight. PLEASE WAIT UNTIL I SEND YOU A COMBINED SHIPPING INVOICE. WILL SEND YOU ONE WITH THE FULL SHIPPING PRICE FOR ALL THE ITEMS PURCHASED. IF YOU PAY BEFORE I SEND A COMBINED INVOICE, I MAY NOT NOTICE THAT YOU OVER PAID FOR SHIPPING. IF I DO NOTICE I WILL REFUND THE DIFFERENCE BUT PLEASE WAIT FOR THE COMBINED INVOICE TO SAVE A REFUND HASSLE FOR BOTH OF US. THANKS.
FYI: I always go to the USPS to mail the items so I always have a receipt/ proof that the items were mailed
I suggest to the winner to print a copy of this sale, it will increase the resale value of your purchase tremendously having this information as a hard copy along with the bank. You are paying for this information, make use of it! Plus it’s fun to look back in 20 years and say I only paid $200 for that way back when. Most of the banks today selling for $200-$400 were $15-$50 in the mid 1970’s, big money when the reference guides I have were printed.
