In 1951, the Commission of Lighting Experts convened in Stockholm, Sweden
and set forth a new precedent. The term \"Light Architecture\" was coined at
this time and brought to fruition the science of light as used in living spaces.\"Light Architecture\" is intelligent lighting. It complements an interior
and becomes an integral component of the well being that interior creates.
Architecture, to be shown at its best, needs the right placement and
type of fixtures. Lighting is one of the most important
elements of interior design. Here is an Arteluce lamp that is a wonderful testimony to the creativity
of lighting artisans in Italy during the mid century period.
Three poles of varying height are topped with pull-string sockets
and are used to provide both light and decoration.
The sockets are crowned with three linen shades in primary colors

and sockets. A socket converter (provided) permits the lamp to be used
in North America. The enameled base has some crackling and wear.
The black enameled stems on the poles also show wear.
The sockets all work. One of the pull-strings is missing its cap.
