$99.95

Souvenir medal for Camp Meade, 1898. Copper suspension reads, “Souvenir.” Red, white and blue ribbon printed in gold letters, “U.S.V. CAMP MEADE MIDDLETOWN, PA 1898.” Copper medal with a golden disc which has the image of a soldier in front of two tents. Reverse has the Lord’s Prayer in tiny, raised letters. Maker marked to Schwabs & S Co. Milwaukee on the reverse. Camp George G. Meade, near Middletown, Pennsylvania was a US Army camp established and subsequently abandoned by the United States Volunteers in 1898 during the Spanish American War. The ribbon is faded and soiled, with a lot of the gold color from the letters gone (and some greenish crud in its place). Dark stains in the front of the ribbon near the ring. The golden disc has a corrosion mark at the left shoulder of the solder, and there are some dark spots of the reverse. The medal and suspension are tarnished overall. You are buying the material pictured. US shipping is $2.00 (1st Class mail with delivery confirmation). No international shipping. This is a hobby not a living, so I try to keep it fun, otherwise why do it. Thank you for trading with me on .
