PART OF A COLLECTION OF GEORGIAN GLASSES MY FATHER HAD AMASSED THIS IS A PAIR OF EXTREMELY UNUSUAL GLASSES MADE FROM TESTED SILVER AND FAUX TORTOISE SHELL THEY HAVE BEAUTIFUL SAPPHIRE BLUE LENSES, FOUR IN TOTAL. THE TORTOISE SHELL FRAME INCLUDING THE SMALL SIDE SECTIONS SUPPORTING THE ARMS MEASURES 12 CMS WIDE, THE EXTENDING SILVER ARMS WHEN FULLY EXTENDED MEASURES APPROX 17 CMS LONG. THE PANELS WHICH OPEN TO THE SIDES EACH MEASURE 4 CMS LONG AND THE LEATHER CASE MEASURES 15.5 CMS LONG. IN REALLY LOVELY CONDITION THERE IS A MINUTE NIK TO THE GLASS OF ONE LENS AS SHOWN IN THE PHOTOGRAPHS. DATING I WAS TOLD TO THE BEGINNING OF THE 19TH CENTURY THEY ARE WHAT THEY CALL THESE DAYS 'VERY COOL' AND I THINK VERY COLLECTIBLE.
