Rare Pairpoint Cut Glass Vase, Berwick Pattern :
This beautiful American Brilliant cut glass vase was made by the Pairpoint Corporation of New Bedford, Massachusetts. It is cut in Pairpoint’s highly attractive and seldom seen Berwick pattern. It stands 10 inches tall and has a diameter of 4 inches at its rim. It is cut on a thick and sparkling clear blank and has been hand polished to a silky finish. It weighs just over 3 pounds and is in excellent condition. The Berwick pattern is a beautifully designed pattern that features hobstars, strawberry diamonds, notched miters and long ovals within a gothic arch type field. Finely engraved tiny matte finish star shaped flowers, leaves and stems are inter spaced around the top and bottom of the brilliant cutting. It has a star cut base. Examples of the Berwick pattern are shown in the American Cut Glass Association’s Pairpoint Catalog. This is the only vase in Pairpoint’s Berwick pattern we have ever seen. None are shown in the Pairpoint catalog and we believe it is quite rare. Essentially every inch of its surface is deeply cut so that it sparkles like a fine diamond. It is certainly one of Pairpoint's most attractive patterns. It is much nicer in person than the pictures show and will be a great addition to any collection. Satisfaction guaranteed. Shipping insurance is included in the handling costs.
