Glenn Miller was an American big band musician, arranger, composer and band leader in the swing era, he was one of the best-selling recording artists between 1939 and 1943, leading one of the best known big bands. Glenn Miller’s notable recordings include \"In The Mood\", \"Moonlight Serenade\", Pennsylvania 6-500\" and \"Chattanooga Choo Choo\".

In 1944, while he was travelling to entertain U.S. troops in France during World War II, Glenn Miller’s aircraft went missing in bad weather over the English Channel. This Royal Doulton jug commemorates the 50th anniversary of the disappearance of Glenn Millerin an airplane over the Bay of Biscay in 1944.

Glenn wears his uniform and a pair of metal glasses. The backstamp includes his date of birth and death on the jugs issued in 1994.
