Rare Solid Silver Thimble Edwardian Era & Hallmarked Chester 1910 - Lovely:
RARE SOLID SILVER EDWARDIAN THIMBLE BY SYDNEY & CO AND HALLMARKED CHESTER 1910
A rare and lovely, decorative, solid silver thimble with a pretty repeating pattern of star shapes around the lower half of the body. It is hallmarked for Chester 1910, in the last years of the Edwardian era.
Like the Charles Horner thimbles, this piece is particularly special, not just for collectors of his thimbles but for collectors of silver as well, since it carries the rarer Chester hallmark. This makes any piece of silver highly desirable and collectable as they are from the Chester Assay Office which closed over 50 years ago in 1962 – so silver pieces hallmarked Chester are gradually becoming harder to find.
A lovely little, highly collectable, solid silver thimble, hallmarked for the rare Chester Assay Office.
Please have a look at the other solid silver thimbles we are listing at the moment. There are examples from theEdwardian and Art Deco eras, and by James Swann & Son and Henry Griffith & Son. There is sure to be one for you!
