Rare Sterling Silver Castle Top Snuff Box Buckingham Palace 1973 Nathaniel Mills:
A superbly made sterling silver castle top snuff box. It is hallmarked for London 1973 with the maker’s marks being CJV for C J Vander, a highly regarded firm. It has been beautifully and unusually designed in the style of an early Victorian example similar to or perhaps a copy of one by Nathaniel Mills. It has a cast lid with image of Buckingham Palace and cast boarders with engine turned detail to its reverse. It is in perfect condition being free from dings splits holes and repairs. The hinge works perfectly and the inside is clean. It measures 1.75 inches (4.4 cms) by 1 and 1/8th inches (2.8 cms) by a touch over 0.5 inches (1.2 cms) tall and weighs an impressive 2 troy ounces (62 grams). A rare very good quality piece.
