RARE Signed Antique Japanese Takahara Komajiro Cloisonne Pitcher Vase Meiji
Hello buyers. Up for offer today is a truly spectacular piece of Japanese cloisonne. Made by Takahara Komajiro and signed as such this is a beautiful small pitcher. The detail on this piece is just spectacular with small cameos of butterflies and flowers. Surrounding the piece are "takara mono" or precious things- symbols of wealth, longevity, wisdom, beauty, harmony, purity and protection from ill omen. The small takara mono are done with a very unsual enamel that looks very much like opal of some sort. The piece is signed to the underside with Komajiro's signature. The piece is Meiji period and I would date this from somewhere between 1880 and 1900. The peice is in good vintage condition, Ihave checked and found one small spot of enamel loss about the size of a pencil tip to the underside pattern. The interior of the lip has a couple of rough spots but not chips. This is one of the prettiest pieces of cloisonne that Ihave been able to get my hands on. Measures 2 1/2"tall. Hard to find piece by a very talented artisan. Take a look at the photos and if you have any questions feel free to ask. Check out my other sales for other quality items. and and good offerding.
