FABULOUS, RARE TO FIND, UNUSED, PINK SILKY POLYESTER BROCADE, WOVEN GOD CHRYSANTHEMUMS ON PINK BACKGROUND , JAPANESE-MADE, KIMONO-STYLE DRESSING GOWN / ROBE - Long Length, Fully Lined with matching Belt - ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS - Beautiful design of Traditional Japanese Flowers Circa 1980s.

I believe this fabulous robe was bought as a souvenir from Japan in the 1980s and then put away and never used. It has been carefully stored because it looks brand new.

You are offered a vintage but unused, beautiful, feminine, top quality, fine, silk brocade-like (but actually polyester), Japanese-made, kimono- style, dressing gown / robe.
The outer fabric is fabulous. The base colour is lustrous and silky in a lovely, deep hot pink with a tiny speck of gold throughout giving a subtle sparkle.
The pattern is all woven like a silk brocade and shows traditional style, long petalled, chrysanthemum flowers in metallic gold, golden yellow and silvery threads.
The fabric looks very much like silk brocade and I was surprised to see the label saying \'polyester\'.

This robe is fully lined in white glossy polyester. This is a bonus because contemporary robes of this kind are seldom lined nowadays.

I was told this robe was bought in the late 1980s as a souvenir from Japan and put away and never worn. This story is supported by the maker\'s label which is of an older style and just shows \" Made in Japan\" and 100% polyester.
The underside of the label shows a flower logo which I recognise as being from a company called Sakurai Shoji who still make kimono style robes today.

However, they no longer make brocade type or lined robes. In fact, lined brocade robes similar to this are not made anymore at all.
There is a care label in the lower lapel which shows Japanese symbols showing the item can be handwashed or machine washed at 30 degrees (treat as a delicate). Also that it should be ironed at a temperature between 80°C - 120°C. These symbols were first universally adopted around the 1980s.

Polyester kimono style dressing gown/ robes which are made in Japan today are expensive to buy. There are no similar, lined robes currently on sale today. However, unlined polyester silky robes retail for around £70-80 and the lined ones, which are presently only available with embroidered patterns, retails for around £150.

SIZE : The length is full length (depending on your height) at 54\"/137cm long. This would fit a range of sizes as it is a wrap round style and is supposed to be \'one size fits all\' garment . I believe it will fit a range of sizes up to a maximum of UK 14 (US12). The width across the back (armpit to armpit is 24\"/61cm. The width all around the kimono from the front of one edge, all the way round the back, to the front of the other edge at waist level is around 56\"/142cm and please remember you need a good overlap at the front. The robe weighs 650g. The belt is about 73\"/186cm long.

CONDITION: It is in unused and in perfect condition. It looks like new. It is beautiful and wearable.

All information is to the best of my knowledge. Please bear in mind, that colours do not always show absolutely accurately on photos and on monitors although they should be close to reality. My items are mostly vintage and are not returnable unless grossly mis-described, so please check the details and measurements before offerding/buying. Please be aware that vintage clothing does not usually \'look like new\' even when it is in excellent condition. Some slight general signs of ageing and use should be expected. If these are conspicuous they will be mentioned in the description.Low response–For sales, if you have less than 3 responses, please email me before offerding. If you do not, I may cancel your offer and block you from offerding until we have communicated. Sorry about this but it is based on previous experience of problems.Overseas buyers must pay with paypal.Payment and postage terms: The postal charge includes a small packaging and handling charge. now charge me a final value fee commission on the postal charge as well as the item value. So I have had to pass this new cost on via the postal cost.UK buyers can pay by paypal, cheque, electronic bank transfer (email for details) or postal order. Item will be sent when funds have cleared. Basic 1st and 2nd class mail is only covered for £20. Therefore this kind of postage can only be offered on low value items. Higher value items will be posted by signed for mail with insurance cover up to £50 due to loss or damage in the post. If the item is worth more than £50 then I will send you an invoice with a special delivery option which you should choose if you want it fully insured. If the item is not fully insured, obviously you cannot get the money back if the item is lost or damaged in the post.On post to overseas.- The post office have recently reduced their cover on standard airmail to £20. Therefore I can only use standard airmail for low priced goods. This is not tracked, if you want a tracked service then please ask for a quote or choose signed for service. For higher priced goods I will be quoting for signed for mail which has insurance for up to £50. If the item sells for more than £50 and you want more insurance it will cost an extra £3. Sorry about that, but that is new post office pricing. If the item is not fully insured, then obviously you cannot get the money back if the item is lost or damaged in the post. Please note that once the parcel has left my hands, I cannot accept responsibility for delays caused by the performance of the postal services or customs in your country.Combined postage for Overseas- Please be aware that as the weight and value of the parcel goes up, so does the price of postage and the need to fully insure. It is not usually much cheaper to combine postage especially to overseas. Sometimes it is actually cheaper to send two or three small parcels than one large one. This is based on the post office pricing structure and is not in my control.Combined postage for UK buyers, depending on what you buy, I will look into the most secure and economical way to send combined parcels and advise you of options. But again as the weight and value of the parcel rises so does the postage cost. Please do not expect large savings on combined postage.RETURNS POLICY– I do not take returns except in the exceptional circumstance of an item being wrongly described. Please understand that selling items on and posting them out incurs costs to me, so please don\'t buy unless you have read the description carefully and are sure that you want the item. Except in the situation where an item has been wrongly described, the buyer is always responsible for return postage.
