RARE US WW1 Warner & Swasey Model 1913 Musket Sight Sniper Scope
Up for offers is this very rare early 20th century gun scope made by The Warner & Swasey Co, Cleveland Ohio. This scope was used by the US Army snipers during World War 1. This example has remained in very good to excellent all original condition as pictured and comes in it's original leather box which is all intact. The scope retains most of the original black anodized finish and even it's original eye cup which has hardened a bit from age but is undamaged. The optics are clean (not fogged) and undamaged (no chips or cracks) and the cross hairs are still visible. The only thing to mention is some dirt and what appears to be an overall film (greasy?) or something coating the optics. It is not a noticeable when you look through reverse. This scope is highly collectible and they do not come around in this nice of condition very often. I am offering it at a low starting offer with . Good Luck.

On Jun-11-13 at 06:54:22 PDT, seller added the following information:For the record, the markings on the side read..... TELESCOPIC MUSKET SIGHT - MODEL OF 1913 No. 5817 - THE WARNER & SWASEY CO. - CLEVELAND OHIO U.S.A. - PAT.FEB13-08.MAY 22-08.DEC15-08. The number 5817 is also stamped in on the curved underside of the main housing just under the outer lens tube. I assume that is the serial number.
