Rare Victorian 10k Gold Locket Clasp Woven Hair Mourning Bracelet,8" For Sale
Antique Victorian 10K solid yellow gold woven hair mourning bracelet. Rare and unusual to find one of the these with the locket on the fastener. The bracelet has a wearable length of 8". The section of woven hair is 4 1/2" x 1". Gross weight of the bracelet is 14.2 grams and I am quite confident that at least 13 grams of that is gold weight. The gold is fully etched in a Victorian swirl and scroll motif. It is free of dents. Both the bracelet fastener and the locket fastener function properly. The center section of gold(that holds the locket) is 1 3/16" x 7/8" and the actual locket lid is 11/16" x 9/16". The woven hair is in good condition with some age appropriate tiny breaks and frays. There is also some separation between rows at the locket end. In general it is quite secure and very wearable. I have included several closeups so please look at all pics. Sweet old piece.
