Rare Vintage Comical "ha-ha Song Food" Bird Seed Tin, First We’ve Seen Unlisted For Sale
Check out this extremely rare early "HALLER’S HA-HA SONG FOOD" tin! We’ve been collecting and dealing in antique advertising for over 30 years and have never seen this tin before and haven’t found it listed anywhere! It’s 2-1/4 x 4 x 1-1/8", all tin litho with a slip lid - not a paper label! Plus the graphics are spectacular, picturing a scrawny, feathering canary on the front and a healthy singing canary on the side, after he’s had "HA-HA!" And what fun text it has - like, "You will ‘HA-HA!’ the bird will ‘HA-HA’ - Everybody will ask for ‘HA-HA SEEDS of the WILDS and EGG FLAKES. Don’t forget ‘HA-HA’ Nothing else will do the work!" To top it off the tin is in beautiful condition - bright colors - super clean & crisp. Just a few specks of wear and a small dent in the lower right-hand corner of the reverse, but none of this detracts from the great look of the tin! Note: The lettering on the reverse DIRECTIONS is actually sharp & clear. When photographing black lettering against red it has a tendency to blur. The lettering says, "To restore Canaries to proper condition and Song, feed half teaspoonful of Haller’s Ha-Ha Song Food daily, or as a treat may be fed twice a week. Keep canary out of draft and note results!" From HALLER'S BIRD FOOD & REMEDY CO. ST.LOUIS, MO. A honey of a tin!
