Rare Vintage Tibetan Agate "naga Skin" Two Eyed Dzi Bead Mounted In Silver Ring For SaleGJPaw sales is pleased to offer a Tibetan Dzi Bead. The Dzi bead is mounted in a Tibetan silver ring and shows a very rare and desirable weathering effect known as "Naga skin," where tiny circular marks are visible on the surface of the bead that resemble dragon scales. The bead also has two eyes, with one looking out and one looking in. Dzi beads first appeared in ancient India almost 4000 years ago and were supposedly brought back and distributed throughout Asia by Tibetan soldiers. The beads are believed to attract protector deities and are used as talismans to ward-off the "evil eye". In Chinese, the name for the word "dzi" translates as "heaven's pearl". Throughout Tibet there is such high demand for real Dzi beads that many Tibetans only wear reproduction beads in public for fear of theft.
The ring is in very good condition, and measures 1.8 inches by 1.3 inches and is equivalent to a size 7.5.
