DESCRIPTION If you are a lover of interesting and unusual vintage and antique jewelry, you've come to the right place. I try to keep a nice mix of fine and costume pieces that range in age from 19th century Victorian to late 20th century vintage designer couture. Fresh from a fine Texas estate comes a rare and most wonderful vintage sterling silver, rhinestone, and lucite jelly belly pig brooch designed by Alfred Philippe for Trifari circa 1943(I have included a copy of the original patent drawing in the sale for reference). Philippe had worked for Cartier and Van Cleef and Arpels before coming to Trifari and his ability to create costume jewelry that mimicked fine jewelry is unmatched. The brooch measures approx 1 1/2" x 2 1/8" and is signed "TRIFARI DES PAT NO 135173 STERLING" on the underside. The condition is excellent with no damage and light wear consistent with age.
