RARE VTG 1950 VOLLAND TWIRL AROUND XMAS CARD, 3D MOBIL, STARS UNUSED & ENVELOPE
In 1950 Volland made a fine series of cards they
called "Twirl Around" that were 3D mobile cards in a variety of designs. They
are exceptional, and like this one, embossed with the Volland name and the 1950
copyright date. The card is beautiful primary shades of foil red, blue, green
and silver, and really catches the light. The ornament/card opens into a 3
dimensional star, that twirls when hung from the thread and clip that are
attached. It is viewable from all sides, and made of heavy cardstock. The card
says simply "Seasons Greetings". It comes in it's original envelope and is
unused. The envelope has a small bit of soil. It is a really magnificent piece.
The star measures 6 3/4" from point to point. I have some other Volland Twirl
cards for sale, so take a look. Volland was a company started in 1908 and
intended to be a publisher of fine greeting cards, to compete with the European
dominated market. They moved into regular publishing as well, but their cards
have always been some of the finest made in the US.Please see my other listings, as there are lots of items like this one! I try and recycle packaging materials as much as I can. I hate adding more garbage to the environment; if you receive a box from me that has been used before, I am "recycling". I will make sure it's sturdy, and your item will arrive in good condition, but the box may not be pretty (or it might be - I have had to buy boxes, as well). Feel free to pass it along, and ship it again! I try to keep my shipping costs as low as possible. I don't charge for my time, the materials, or in most cases, the shipping! All my packages are tracked. If you don't receive your item or it arrives broken, I will refund your money, including any shipping charges.
