We are also often given the honor of selling fine and rarepieces for other collectors.Called “Mickey Mouse” because of his strong resemblance to the early version ofthe well-known Disney character, this desirable vintage Hallowe\'en diecutdecoration stands smiling, playing his banjo in celebration of All Hallows\' Eve.There were six small band members made, and all have Jack o\' Lantern heads withleaf ears. This one is RARE and hails from The Roarin’ 1920s. He was made from thick,heavily-embossed cardboard or pressed paper pulp and painted in outstandingcolors of old brownish-orange and black. He has a matte finish, and is embossedGermany on one foot.

Mickey measures 7 ¾” high x 3 ¾” wide. He, and some other wonderful pieces, were recently found lovingly stored away in a box marked \"Grandmother\'s Hallowe\'en party, 1926.\" Please watch for more treasures from the party in our other sales!This ravishing rodent has visited the vet at some point, as he has verywell-done small, matching cardboard braces at the back of his legs to give them stability. Because thesediecuts were designed with rather thin legs that put them at risk, you will often findthese decorations with heavy creases or repairs to the legs. One foot has a slight curl, which actually helps him to stand very nicely.There are two tiny extra pinholes at the top. There is a miniscule amount ofcrackling to his paint. Interestingly, and how I love to see this, thisadorable fellow has his original price on the back that indicates that he andthe other members of his band sold for a whopping four for five cents!!! What? Yes.....a little more than a penny a piece.One just like him can be seen on page 186 of the outstanding reference bookentitled “Vintage Halloween Collectibles: Third Edition” by esteemed collector,expert and author Mark B. Ledenbach. Using his relative scarcity index, Mark hasassigned the number “2” for this die cut, which means RARE. We are so deeply honored andgrateful that Mark invited us to showcase some of the pieces from our collectionin this incredible book! This would be a FRIGHTfully fabulous opportunity to own, in my opinion, one ofthe most adorable pieces of Hallowe\'en history that exists.
