RARE antique ELEPHANT INKWELL SPELTER / LEAD / CAST ALLOY ?
Description
a lovely antique or vintage rare elephant inkwell. dates at leastto the 1950s , i found anold newspaper cutting dated 1954 , tucked down deep into the body , but it may be older than that. i think it is spelter but it has the apearance of lead or cast alloy. weighs 1/2lb. the body is unpainted and the little carrying box and tusks are painted , though the paint has worn on some parts. the removeable inkwell is made of brass and it also has a fitted pen holder. 3 1/4in high x 6in long x 3in across ears. in good sound condition.
