Rare Lot Of 6 Matching Coin Silver Joseph Richardson Jr.1777 Spoons Philadelphia:
For your consideration are 6 matching coin silver coffee or desert spoons made circa 1777 by the prominant silversmith Joseph Richardson Jr. Richardson was born in 1752 and his father was also a silversmith. In 1796 he a waste bowl and tea pot for George Washington for which he was paid $44.55. Washington appointed Mr. Richardson Mint in 1795 and he remained in that position for 35 years until he passed away in The spoons are 5 1/2'' long and weigh 17gms each.The bpwls are 1 3/4'' long and 1'' wide. The stems or handles are 3 3/4'' The initials J.R. within a rectangle are stamped twice on the back of each spoon.. There are initials on the front, one is a W. Two of are in excellent condition, four have minor dents. NO THANKS FOR
